Joy to the Fishes and Other Shenanigans

It's been a while since I posted.  It is possible that DVR'd episodes of American Idol, NCIS, and Burn Notice may have edged out spending time on the computer.  Or maybe the past few weeks have just flown by.  Chris had a Guy's weekend a few weeks ago involving a Beer Fest (perfect for them).  My Mom came up to help out with James while I had doctor's visits and was able to play with us for our third snow of the season.  I had a Girl's weekend with my precious college girls involving a Tea Room (perfect for us).  James had his 18 month appointment and is still off the charts in height.  (I do wonder if he is going to be as tall as Chris.)  This past weekend, Uncle Trey came to visit.  James looooved having him around.  For the rest of the day after Trey left, James was trying to find him.  He would do something silly in his high chair and then crane his neck around to see if Uncle Trey was there to respond and laugh.

Today, James and I met our friends Cicely and Johnathan at the Aquarium.  The boys really enjoyed seeing the fish up close.  They were so cute trying to copy all the bigger kids around them!  James' favorite exhibit was the Beluga whale.  He liked calling for the "way-oo" or the "fih".

As of tomorrow, James will officially be a Huggable Honeybee.  He will be leaving his wonderful teacher and some of his friends in the Cuddly Caterpillar classroom.  So proud of him and grateful to all the teachers who have been so patient and giving of their time to help him learn and grow.

Little Memories:
  • James copying a crow's call.  You know how they usually 'caw' four times?  James copied it perfectly!
  • James cracking up over Mama and Dada's snowball fight!
  • Asking to go outside and play ball every single day.
  • Playing "Ring Around the Rosie" with everyone that has visited recently...over and over.
  • Going to the 'whee' (slides) at the local school.  James started going crazy just walking up to it!

What I learned this week (or, uh, these past few weeks):
  • Don't start "Ring Around the Rosie" unless you have a desire to get dizzy.
  • Always take a bib with a pocket when eating out.  When taking James to the mall with Mom, James lunch decided to come back up.  Almost every bit was caught in the pocket of the bib.  Gross, but quite helpful.
  • Family should visit at least once monthly.  My house (usually) is a little cleaner when people visit and I always feel refreshed from their time.
  • If you don't blog about it, you probably won't remember it!
Have a blessed week!
